Request of Duke Zvonimir I. for a Royal Crown

Greetings!

I, Bernard Zrinski, Chancellor of the Duchy of Varasd, hereby turn towards the Holy See to request a Royal Crown for my Lord, Duke Zvonimir I., of House Konsky. For what reasons my Lord has earned this, I would say as the following:

- My Lord, Duke Zvonimir I., is Duke of Varasd, and Lord of all it's regions, namely: Slavonia, Pannonia, Croatia, Carniola and Dalmatia, and has ruled these lands with justice and fairness for many years.

- My Lord, Duke Zvonimir I., has a good reputation all across Europe and beyond, has closed marriage ties with the Duchy of Thagan, and established a safe network of trade throughout the Mediterrean, and even reaching as far as the Baltic Sea.

- My Lord, Duke Zvonimir I., is always true to the Christian faith, and loyal to Rome. He stamps out every act of heresy, or idol worship within his lands.

- My Lord, Duke Zvonimir I., has a large, and strong army, of well-trained soldiers, a vast number of the best knights, cavalrymen, swordsmen, spearmen, and bowmen, and will always take up arms in order to protect those who are in need, to serve justice, and to defend Christianity.


These, Your honourable Cardinals, are the main reasons among many others, that my Lord has earned to become King of Varasd, and that House Konsky shall gain the crown for their future generations.

The "Request of Duke Zvonimir I. for a Royal Crown" is now open for discussion for the College of Cardinals for 7 days. Every cardinal is requested to voice their opinion on this matter, and to submit their vote in the following format after their arguments.

By the power granted of the Holy See, I, Bishop-Knight Laurence does endorse the notion.

Duke Zvonimir is a true son of Christ, not only does he continually further European causes but he hold dominion over many tribes and peoples that for centuries have been savage or alien.

God Bless King Zvonimir, long may he reign.

Cardinal Lysander approves the request for Duke Zvonimir's crown.

May your throne be upheld by righteousness and fidelity.

Cardinal Bishop Daniel approves the request for a crown from Duke Zvonimir.

As the proposal has reached a decivise majority in favour, there is no reason to keep this discussion open for a prolonged amount of time. Here is the final tally:

Cardinal Luq Léxonnois (of Bezique) - in favour
Cardinal Daniel (of Judah) - in favour
Cardinal Ulam-khala (of Babylon) - abstain
Cardinal Lysander (of Cybelos)  - in favour
Cardinal Johannes (of Ebsotz) - abstain

So, the final tally is 6 votes in favour, and 2 abstain. Even if Cardinal Ulam-khala and Cardinal Johannes would decide to vote against, the proposal would still pass.

The Church hereby declared that Varasd is a kingdom, and Zvonimir of House Konsky is King. He may decide the inheritance of his crown as he sees fit.
