A Crown Request for Orberstine

By the Grace of the God, of the Principalities of Rostock, Lübeck, and Sczcecin; on behalf of the dominant Catholic populous and the other outlying territories within the realms of Orberstine; we, the faithful, request His Holiness Basil I to bestow the venerable title of Prince-Bishop upon our Prince Jörg IV, thereby ruling our lands in submission to God, Jesus, the Holy See, and the Pope.

The outlying reasons are as thus:
1. The autonomous regions within Orberstine are under Orberstinean rule and no pretender challenges the authority thereof

2. Prince Jörg IV is the unchallenged ruler of Orberstine

3. The secular city of Lüneburg under the rulership of Jörg IV wishes to remain as such; thereby granted the title Prince upon Jörg IV and his future heirs.

4. The faithful population wishes for the Pope to bless our lands with the official landed title of Prince-Bishop

We hear your request and consider it, but pray tell us: you are already a prince of your realm. You have been granted by the Living God the task of seeing to your lands and your people in their corporeal form. The task of the bishop, however, is to tend to his flock's immortal souls. I do not doubt you are a pious man, but what study have you done that shall make your appointment to Bishop, that you may tend to your people's souls as you do to their bodies?

Jörg IV reigns as Prince of Lüneburg, Rostock, Lübeck, and Szczecin; however, all aforementioned cities with the sole exception of initial city requests His Holiness, in the face of recent political changes with the formation of Orberstine, to reconsider the secular state of these autonomous regions. Rostock, as acting capital of our nation, requests a bishop that serves not only as head of church but also as head of our most devout nation.

Jörg IV is most qualified for the position as the former bishops are either retired, deceased, or reassigned and Jörg IV holds a special interest in the ecclesiastical affairs of Low Saxony. While not only holding a degree in dogmatic theology, he is also well affiliated with Latin. With a leader whom has a greater understanding of the doctrine of the church it will help further the growth of the Catholic faith in a frontier populated by pagans.

Considering the important roles of bishops in matters of the state, Jörg IV also wishes for the title of bishop to be bestowed upon him for he has a special interest in both the affairs of the church and of the kingdom, of which both hold high importance within the court of Orberstine as conversions of heathen Germanic religions occur on a yearly basis. As prince and bishop, Jörg can more easily act as our representative of the Catholic faith and act on the behalf of the nobility of our nation.

It does intrigue us, and we are sympathetic to your desires. We shall elevate you and frock you. We shall make you Bishop of the Church, as well as a Prince of Europe. May you guide your people in this world and the next to the Living God.
