Court of Canmore

This is the Royal Court of Scotland. The current ruling house is House of Alpin.

A small ship sets sail from the River Taw, around Wales, up the coast of England, until it reaches the River Nith, and from there, its occupant, a messenger in service to the Dumnonian resistance, departs from his ship in the port of the city of Dumfries, from which, he acquires a horse, and rides for Edinburgh, and the Court of the Canmore dynasty based there.
Once there, this messenger delivers his letter, and awaits a response from the King.
The letter reads:

To His Majesty, King Malcolm II,

I, Leofwine, of the noble house of Fougeres, Duke of Devonshire, on the behalf of all Lords of Dumnonia, do bid you greetings.

The reason that I write to you this day, is unfortunately, rather grave.
The situation in England is chaotic, to use a kind word.

This may seen usual to an astute observer and scholar, among whose numbers, you are surely counted, however, despite the rather unfortunately common anarchy that England and many other lands of Europe find themselves in, there is a new situation worsening the already unfortunate circumstances that we Englishmen find ourselves in.

Norsemen raiders have appeared in England again, first by landing in Kent.
I am sure that you are familiar with the characters of which I speak.
You need only look towards the Northern Isles, or to the western coast of fair Scotland to see the lasting effects of the Norse raids of years past.

But unlike those raiders, who may have plundered and later retired back to their homelands, these men have decided to stay in England, and make it theirs, destroying monasteries, looting churches, and razing the lands in the process.

Beyond Kent, they have taken the city of London, and the lands just beyond it, giving them near-dominance of the River Thames.

These men are not a civilising force, by any means.

They are opportunistic, greedy, pagan savages.

Your Majesty, The Kings of Alba and Wessex Kings of England once enjoyed many fruitful years of diplomacy.

I call upon that, prostrating myself before you, and ask for your assistance, and your friendship.

A letter is sent in reply to the Duke of Dummonia:

From His Majesty, King Malcom Canmore II of Scotland,
To the Esteemed Duke Leofwine of Devonshire,

I have received your letter and will inform you that I have sent delegations to many kingdoms through out mainland Europe and are expected to arrive in a few days.
I have dispatched a unit of one thousand men to help defend Dummonia to hopefully secure an alliance between our two realms and hopefully to secure the realm of Dummonia from the heathen Danes.
I have dispatched a delegation to our faithful Irish in hopes that they will heed a brother's plea for help.
May the God of Heaven and his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, bless, keep and defend you from all that is unholy,
