"Hej, Zatrzymać!" - a foreign pagan warrior has shouted to the group of missionaries approaching them.
Adalbert, leader of the group, has called forth Julianus, one of the few christian men who spoke the language of the pagan folk. The young monk went closer to the guards, held his hands up in infront of himself, as a sign of peace.
He spoke in polish:
"Greetings, warriors! We come in peace. We seek the road to Krakow, and wish to meet your Lord. We are followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, and we have come to save your souls from eternal damnation."

After Julanius has spoken, the caravan of the missionaries have all stopped, all looking upon the warriors blocking their path...

Drogowit gazed upon Julanius for some time before responding. The wind blew from the East and his brown hair freely swept to the right while his thick, but trimmed beard remained in place. It was not a perfect trim, as he had done it himself with a dagger. The other warriors took a long look at the missionaries, their brows furrowed. One of them turned to the other, speaking in a harsh whisper, though only the word "chrześcijanin" could be heard.

"By the decree of the Książ," Drogowit finally spoke, his voice powerful and commanding, "I am to allow your passage. But by my faith, I should cut you all down like dogs for your betrayal of the Gods," he snarled, "this land is not your's to convert to your false faith."

"Thank you for allowing us." - said Julianus in polish, and then he turned to the rest of the monks, and had a short conversation with them. Two priests came forward, and offered bread and wine to the warriors, "as gifts, for your kindness", Julianus explained.

The caravan of monks then, has begun to continue their travel towards Kraków, where they would meet the King of all Polska. As they have went onwards, soon they encountered a small village - it was small and seemed unsignificant, as it had no grod, no moat, and not even a guard tower, or a house built of stone. One of the older missionaries, Father Jaromir, who spoke polish well, because of his silezian heritage, has went forward alone to meet the people of the village. He brought italian wine and fine bread from Varasd, as a gift towards the village people.

The rest of the priests waited outside the village, and should Father Jaromir return with good news, they enter the village aswell, in peace. If Father Jaromir returns with ill news, or does not return at all, then the priests will avoid the village, and search for a new way towards Kraków.

"Greetings!" - Father Jaromir yelled at the entrance of the seemingly empty village, awaiting an answer, hoping that the villagers would not be any more hostile than the guards were.

There were a few murmurs from the log homes, and then silence. Finally, four men stepped out to face Jaromir. One of them had white hair and an older appearance, though his form seemed to be fit and strong. Another looked like a grown man, capable and well-built. The other two were both still teenagers, albeit on the older side of the spectrum. They each carried shields, three of them with spears and one, the middle-aged of the group, carried a sword. A young blonde woman was peeking out one of the windows of a home.

"Why are you here? Who are you?" The swordsman asked. keeping his distance and his shield raised alongside his companions. The eldest of them did not speak, and watched with an intelligent gaze while the two youngest had both worry and eagerness in their eyes.

"Why are we here? Who are we?" - Jaromir began to spoke, in a calm, friendly tone. He held his arms up in the air beside himself, as if he'd want to embrace the whole village in a friendly hug.
"My name is Jaromir, and I am a servant of God. But, my name does not really matter. I am merely a sheep in the herd of our Lord, Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Pastor.
Why are we here? Because we wish to spread the word of our Saviour, and we wish to save your souls from eternal damnation. But please, do not mistake us for foreign intruders. We do not want to force you to abandon your ways of living, we just want to preach, and those, who want to listen, can listen, and those, who want to turn their heads away from our words, can do so. We will not harm anyone, for that is against the will of our God. We do not even carry weapons, and no warrior is coming along with us. If you do not wish us to enter your village, we shall find another route towards Kraków.
"

Jaromir made some steps closer to the group of people, and took out the bread and wine he has brought along, from his leather bag. He offered it to the villagers.

"Please, let us stay here for a while and allow us to speak about God to your people."

"Who is this Jesus Christ you speak of?" The swordsman demanded, "who is this 'God' you speak of? There are many gods."

No move was made towards the bread or the wine, though the men seemed to relax upon hearing Jaromir was unarmed.

"Jesus Christ is the son of the Father, but he is God himself aswell. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are God, in three persons, but there is only one God. Our Saviour was born, he lived a sinless life, and he sacrificed himself to save us from out sins..." - Father Jaromir began to preach, and gave a rather short summary about the life of Jesus Christ, thoughtfully cutting details, and shortening praises, not to give too much unfollowable information to the villagers at first.
"If you wish to know more about Him, and our God," - Jaromir continued - "why not let us come into your village and talk with us? You can browse through all our belongings, if you are still suspicious about us, and none of us will go anywhere without at least one of you as company. We'll sleep wherever you give us place, and anyone who wishes, can come to talk with us. We also have medicine with us, and with the blessing of God, we can cure your ill."

Jaromir made a few, slow steps forwad, still offering the bread and wine to the villagers, with a friendly smile on his face.

The swordsman broke into a chuckle, the two young men joining him soon after until he calmed down, "You worship a dead man. What use is a dead man to us? No, you are wrong. Swaróg is the one who created this world. How can you think otherwise? Do you not feel the Piorun's power as thunder and lightening erupt from the sky? Does Jaryło not bring spring and fertility to your lands?"

Still nobody took the gifts.

"Our God has died, indeed, but he defeated death himself, and has arisen on the third day after his death- He is above death, for he is eternal. He created the whole world in seven days, and he rules the skies, the earth and the seas. He is above all.
And there are things that the idols you worship do not do: He forgives your sins, if you ask for forgiveness, and in his eyes, everyone, even the last of men, matters.
" - Jaromir has begun to preach once again, this time explaining how many miracles Christ and the saints have performed, he talked about damnation, salvation, and forgiveness aswell.

The swordsman scoffed at the suggestion of such of a god, but before he keep hurl an insult at Jaromir, the old man finally spoke up. "It's going to rain," his eyes were on the horizon, where dark clouds were approaching.

"What?" The swordsman turned to the white-haired elder, confused by his sudden speech.

"It's going to rain," he repeated, gesturing towards the sky, "All this talk is bringing us nowhere. Let this man stay with us for the time being. We must show him kindness, even if he does not follow our faith."

"Fa-"

The old man cut the swordsman off, "If you don't like what he has to say, don't listen," he turned his attention to Jaromir, "You're welcome to stay as long as it takes for this storm to pass. But after the sky clears, you will need to leave. There is nothing for you here."

Jaromir thanked the old man, and turned around. After a while, a group of alike looking priests came to the village, none of them armed. They sat down where the villagers have showed them to, and thanked for the shelter the villagers provided them for the time of the storm.

Once again, they offered medicine, wine and bread for the villagers, hoping that at least one of them would accept it.
