Court of Cantabrio

You are being escorted in by many guards, the walk to the court is seemingly dull. Nothing but dull grey stone was built into the walls and the floor. You do notice however that on occasion an arched window or two gives you a peak outside. Many twists and turns later through the corridors you finally see two large wooden doors. The two guards that were guarding the door now open it to let in you and your escorts. Once inside you can't help but be a little disappointed, here you were thinking that you would see the famous Spanish architecture that this country boasts about, but here there is none. The stone room is lined by window arches, lamps hang from the ceiling to give the room some warmth. In the center of the room there is a large wood oval table with five court members. You assume that the one siting in the middle is the king. You assumed correctly, because he now gestures to you to sit at one of the three chairs across from him. Everyone seated at the table looks at you and waits for you to speak.

A longship from Rorukheim sails from Jorrvaskr to Cantabrio. 100 men are on board with 1 man in the lead

Probably if a Viking raid ship was around your coast line, of course it would have a banner of peace or something above it

One of the many ships patrolling the coastline of Cantabrio sailed up to the side of the viking ship. The ship was about the size of the foreigners ship, but it definitely dwarfed the viking long-ship (?) in terms of height. When the sails were furled and the ship floated on the viking's port-side then a man looked over the railing of the ship. He called down below in Latin, for it was more commonly known than his native language Spanish. Perhaps the northerners had a translator on board, he would see shortly. "Greetings Northerners! What brings your fine ship into the waters of Cantabrio?"

(We have a Spaniard that can speak our language and Spanish, just don't ask where we got him ;p)
Your men are surprised to see a women approach them "
Hei mitt navn er Jarl Porunn, jeg ble sendt av kong Ragnar å utarbeide en handelsavtale mellom våre riker!" She looks at the translator, through stutters he says "Hello my name is Jarl Porunn, I was sent by King Ragnar to work out a trade agreement between our kingdoms."

The man was more startled at the Spaniard aboard the viking ship then their gender. He regained himself and continued, "A trade agreement you say?" The captain of the ship thought it over before replying again, "My ship the St. Carlos will escort you into the port of Bilbao." (Time skip until you are inside the room with the king?)

Jarl Porunn speaks in a language none of you understand. When she's finished she looks at the Spaniard. He looks nervously at her then to the council he says, "Jarl Porunn of Rorukheim wishes to extended friendship to the people of Cantabrio. She says King Ragnar think me trade between our nations will be mutually benificial."

King Ricardo Alejandro y Calderon sits quietly while the rest of his court members whisper among themselves. He raises his hand and immediately his court is quiet. "Ask this Jarl where they have acquired you, the Spaniard. Were you from Renaplauza or from within our borders?" King Ricardo rubs his chin thoughtfully. He spoke again. "Because if you have kidnapped this Spaniard then I see no reason why Cantabrio should be allies with thieves." King Ricardo's face was expressionless, but many of the other court members showed signs of anger.

Some seven Nordic longships and three Drakkar would be seen off the nothern coast of the Cantabrio. Most of said ships would be spotted to be filled with warriors donned with heavy armors, a few ships even seeming to carry beasts aboard their cargo. They seem to be trailing the coast, looking for a suitable landing area.

The Nordic Longships wouldn't have gotten far into the coast, because of the coastguard patrol. One heavy warship sailed close by, they were looking to see if the northerners meant harm.

The Spainard looks confused "what?'' Then quickly realizes what they were asking, "no no no! It's not like that! She's paying me! I swear! I'm just a little nervous I guess, "laughs awkwardly "you see I never really done anything like this." Porunn looks at him impatiently then speaks to him in the unfamiliar language again to the Spaniard

Once the ship would near their own, one of the longships race to board it, a man speaking in Latin shouting over the men afraid of attack. "Hello, people of Spain! We are men of Konge Bjorn of the North! We seek talks with your leader, Konge Bjorn being here himself!"

King Ricardo then smiled. "My mistake then." He paused. "Now would the trade agreement be only with Jarl Porunn's village, region or what have you. Or will this trade agreement extend into all of Rorukheim?"

The captain of the ship didn't allow the men to board their vessel, but he rather yelled out, "Why have you come with so many ships to our coastline? If Konge Bjorn wants to speak to our king then he must present himself to my eyes. Then we may escort his ship further into Cantabria, but the rest of the ships can not sail farther into our waters." A couple more light warships sailed nearby.

The larger ships of the ten would sail past the ships escorting them, as shouts in Nordic a dragged back across the fleet. After five minutes or so, a ship filled to the brim with warriors seemed to be equipped with the best weapons and armor in the army. As it begins to sail past the warship, a large man would stand from the back of the crew, yelling over once more in Nordic. A translator nearby begins to make sense of his words. "I, Konge Bjorn of Drangavik, that of the North, shall sail straight to the city that holds your king, and keep talks with him!"

At this point the captain was in a whirl of anger and panic. He spoke to his crew in Spanish, "Signal the closest ships! This appears to be a raid led by their king himself!" The captain then leaned over the railing and shouted in Latin with obvious anger. "You shall not make it to Bilbao as long as I'm alive! Konge Bjorn! The Spanish Armada of Cantabrio demands that you stop and talk peacefully with us or you and all your men will be seen as enemies of th-" The captain's cracked mid sentence and he had a coughing fit. Three trumpets sounded the alarm from his ship. The captains ship turned and headed straight for the foreigners, sadly they probably would not catch up because of how slow their ship was. But luckily there were three Lanza de Romas (light warship) nearby. They pursued the viking ship. Other than these four navy ships there were not any others in sight.

From the captain's ship, King Bjorn would be seen bursting into anger at the sound of the horns, chopping at the side of the boat with an axe. He'd begin to yell in Nordic towards his translator as two men would blow Gjallarhorns, signalling a mass-halt of the fleets. Rows would quickly reverse, aswell as sails being heaved up. After a few minutes of men being seen rowing to turn King Bjorn's ship, he'd throw back up into yelling, heaving the sail down as men begin rowing towards the Captain's ship. The translator is seen at the bow of the ship, waving slightly as King Bjorn would give slight whispers towards him, his Huskarls not trailing far behind.

"She says um.... all of Rorukheim. She is only a jarl of Ragnar." Continues the Spaniard. "Jarl Porunn says Ragnar offers free trade between Rorukheim and Cantabrio and a nonaggression pact."

Captain Philip's eyes widened as the Nordic ship now fast approached. Quick as a fox he raced across the main deck and then up the stairs towards the quarter deck, all the while shouting to his crew to prepare for battle. With the crew busy running around Philip dismissed his helmsman and began steering his vessel. A spin of the wheel to the right and the ship heaved itself in that direction. Some of the crew on deck tripped and stumbled. Philip was aiming for the open oars of the viking ship, to possibly destroy and disable the rowers inside and the oars of the ship itself. He wasn’t particularly worried of the nordics boarding his vessel since they were so low to the surface, he was more worried of having a gaping hole in the bow of his ship. Meanwhile the three Lanza de Romas veered widely in different directions, they were fast but not fast at maneuvering at high speeds.

King Ricardo motioned for his council members to start discussing, and they did in the Spanish tongue. One of the council members got into an argument with another, they started raising their voices. The other council members each spoke with one another, over the voices of the two arguing. King Ricardo on the other hand sat quietly and listened to the discussion going on. After five minutes passed the room quieted down and all eyes were on the King. Ricardo smiled and finally spoke to the Jarl’s translator. “Cantabrio would be happy to start trade with Rorukheim.” He paused, letting the translation go through. “But I am afraid that with the recent sightings of Northmen along the coast of Auvergne that it’s not the right time for a pact to be created.” Some of the council members nodded. “With respect I politely decline your offer of nonaggression.”

She accepts, but more importantly the King accepts.
